As with all training programs, USADA’s evidence-based training program for IRONMAN combines the latest training theory, best digital delivery methods, and the most experienced practitioners in anti-doping training to ensure that every audience member understands their rights and responsibilities. applicable rules. Each modality is subject to rigorous monitoring and evaluation for maximum effectiveness.
In addition to e-learning and face-to-face training, IRONMAN and USADA have completed a training video that will be distributed to the entire population of athletes registered for any 2024 IRONMAN® or IRONMAN® 70.3® race worldwide.
“This collaboration with USADA will consistently and clearly put the necessary resources and information in front of each IRONMAN athlete to ensure they have the tools to do their part to ensure a level playing field at our events.Jennifer Tillema, Director of the IRONMAN Anti-Doping Program, says.
USADA has been providing training to clients for many years and has established a model for delivering client-specific training programs, with offerings ranging from daily training to comprehensive programs combining pre-event and training day delivered in a variety of ways. Covering all the topics outlined in the World Anti-Doping Agency’s International Education Standard, USADA’s educational programming uses fact-checks, sport-specific athlete stories and scenarios to ensure material is both educational and engaging. The program also includes values-based activities to encourage or validate athletes’ desire to compete cleanly.
“IRONMAN should be commended for their dedication to clean sport and anti-doping education.said Tammy Hanson, USADA Director of Education. “When offering them various types of training, one thing was clear: They wanted to make sure that every athlete had every tool they needed to compete cleanly and that they wanted to make sure they took advantage of everything we had to offer. USADA would like to see other sports programs prioritize education alongside their commitment to testing.”
