Devon Thomas charged under Anti-Corruption Code

On behalf of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) and the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), the International Cricket Council (ICC) has charged West Indies player Devon Thomas seven times under anti-corruption codes. and is temporarily suspended with immediate effect.

In his capacity as Designated Anti-Corruption Officer, the ICC has charged Mr. Thomas under the SLC Anti-Corruption Act (SLC Code) for Participants, the ECB Anti-Corruption Act (ECB Act) for T10 Cricket League Participants. ) and the CPL Anti-Corruption Code (CPL Code) for Participants.

Fees are as follows:

SLC Code Article 2.1.1 – To enter into an agreement or be a party to an agreement to try to correct or correct, fabricate or improperly influence the outcome, progress, behavior or other aspects of matches in the Lanka Premier League 2021.

SLC Code Article 2.4.4 – Failure to disclose to the Designated Anti-Corruption Officer without undue delay all details of an approach or invitation taken to engage in Corrupt Behavior in the Lanka Premier League 2021.

SLC Code Article 2.4.6 – Refusing or failing, without compelling reason, to cooperate with the Investigation of the Designated Anti-Corruption Officer by failing to provide accurately and completely any information and/or documents requested by the Designated Anti-Corruption Officer.

SLC Code Article 2.4.7 – Discovery of evidence of Corrupt Behavior, including (without limitation) impeding or delaying the Designated Anti-Corruption Officer’s investigation of Corrupt Behavior, concealing, falsifying or destroying any documents or other information that may be relevant to and/or may be relevant to or lead to evidence of such investigation.

ECB Law Article 2.4.4 – Failure to disclose to the Designated Anti-Corruption Officer without undue delay all details of an approach or invitation taken to engage in Corrupt Behavior at Abu Dhabi T10 2021.

CPL Code Article 2.4.4 – Failing to disclose to the Designated Anti-Corruption Officer without undue delay all details of an approach or invitations received to engage in Corrupt Behavior in relation to the CPL 2021.

CPL Code Article 2.4.2 – (a) failing to disclose (without undue delay) to the Designated Anti-Corruption Officer (without undue delay) the receipt of any gift, payment, entertainment or benefit that he knew or should have known was made to cause a violation of the CPL Rules, or (b) would have damaged the reputation of the player or the game of cricket.

Mr. Thomas has 14 days from 23 May 2023 to respond to the charges.
